PlateNext

An integrated productivity suite

What's next on your plate.

PlateNext is an integrated suite for teams that ship real work (construction, rentals, the personal project you keep meaning to finish). Mail, projects, files, contacts. One sign-in across all of them, on top of one store, agreeing on one idea of a project. Not five logins to five vendors that pretend not to know each other.

01  ·  What it is

An integrated suite, one shared idea of a project.

Most productivity software is either a sprawling platform with a sales team or a single toy with a mascot. PlateNext is the middle thing. A suite that agrees on one project model and one identity store, then puts a focused surface in front of each kind of work: the inbox, the project board, the document, the directory.

what’s on your plate.

The webmail at mail.platenext.com has a sidebar that ties each vendor message to the project it's about. The project app at projects.platenext.com is where the work is broken down and tracked: projects, tasks, sub-tasks as deep as the work goes. Files at files.platenext.com hold the documents that move between mail and projects, versioned and linked back to whatever they came from. Contacts at contacts.platenext.com is the directory the messages and files all came from.

Same store. No copies to keep in sync. Open the document from the message it arrived in. Open the project from the contact who's waiting on it. The data points one way, the surfaces are just different windows onto it.

02  ·  What you do here

Each surface is a focused lens on the same work.

  1. i.

Projects, the framework you navigate by

Project → Task → Sub-task, as deep as the work goes. A per-project board for execution, a per-person plate for everything you owe across projects. No sprints, no story points, no velocity charts. Linear-shaped, not Jira-shaped. Personal projects stay private until you invite someone in.

  2. ii.

Mail, with a sidebar that knows about projects

Reading, triage, composing, threads, attachments. The new bit is the sidebar that ties an inbound message to the right project in one keystroke. Outbound goes under a stable identity per relationship, so you can hand off a vendor to a teammate without the vendor noticing a new email address.

  3. iii.

Files, versioned and linked to the work they belong to

Documents are first-class, not email attachments that go stale in three forks. "Floor Plan v3" has a version, a state, an audit trail, and a back-pointer to the message it arrived in and the task it's a deliverable for. The same file appears in mail, projects, and files because there is one file.

  4. iv.

Contacts, the people every other surface points at

Vendors, clients, teammates, the architect's assistant who answers faster than the architect. One directory, scoped per project or personal. The same person you email is the same person assigned to a task is the same person who shared the file. No three copies of their phone number drifting in three tools.

03  ·  The pieces

One suite. Not eight tabs from eight companies.

Most teams glue work together by jumping between mail from one company, chat from another, files from a third, a project tool from a fourth, a contacts directory from a fifth. The handoffs are where work goes to die.

PlateNext is built the other way. Each member is a lens on the same shared store: the inbox lens, the projects lens, the files lens, the people lens. One sign-in. One vendor. The email about the project, the file the vendor sent, the contact who sent it, and the task it turned into all point at the same thing.

v1 is live. Sign-in, projects, mail, and contacts are running at the hosts above — one sign-in, one shared store. Files is carving out of Project Manager next. Leave your email and we'll write you when the rest lands. Still no buttons that lead nowhere — every link above goes to something real.

An email when v1 ships, an email when it's stable. Nothing in between, nothing after.
